Stick with Windows 10 or Upgrade?

Windows 11 has been released to the general public for a while now, and you’re probably wondering if you need to upgrade or not.

With Windows 11 being so new we tend to see issues with early adoption of new operating systems. We recommend giving the newly released update a few months so more people can test it and Microsoft can work out the kinks. Let’s chat about the main differences between Windows 10 and Windows 11 as well as some new things 11 has brought along with it.

Windows 10 has been around for a while and will be fully supported with updates until 2025 giving us so many things!

1. Improved security

2. More virus protection

3. A lighter and faster operating system

4. We have complete control when it comes to turning applications on and off and more all from the control center.

After upgrading to Windows 11 there have been situations regarding lost applications and privacy issues. Reading that at first may make you hesitant but before you decide anything, there is a lot to be said about Windows 11.

Windows 11 and the pros and cons of upgrading. This upgrade will bring;

1. An improved start menu

2. Widgets are returning

3. You will have access to android apps

4. Individual Desktops for multiple family use

Along with so many things returning and some leaving there are some amazing new features!

The new Windows 11 desktop screen will bring a new look and layout. Similar to that of a MacBook but it’s all Microsoft! This will help optimize screen space and bring a new balance you didn’t know you needed!

  • Microsoft Teams is the new way to connect, allowing you to connect with anyone, anywhere! You will be able to call, text, and video chat right from the comfort of your desktop. Say goodbye Skype and hello Microsoft Teams.

  • Individual Desktops allows you to set up each individual with their own desktop to keep everything separated. Sharing with your kids just got easier! Set up each desktop with the specific needs for each person in your household or at work.

  • For all the PC Gamers out there, get ready to play the latest games with amazing graphics that make you feel like it’s the real deal. Enjoy playing with friends that use a console and setting your peripherals exactly how you want!

Last but not least, let’s talk about compatibility. The older your computer the less likely it is you will even be able to upgrade. Windows 11 is now more restrictive and you must meet certain requirements to upgrade. Here are some of the new requirements Microsoft is now asking for;

  • You will need a minimum of 64GB Storage

  • A 8th Generation Intel Processor – For most consumers this will be a 2nd generation Ryzen AMD chip.

  • 4GB RAM or greater

  • Motherboard needs to support UEFI/Secure Boot, motherboard also needs to be equipped with a TPM 2.0 chip.

With some other requirements needed these are just a few to help give you an idea of what you will need.
